The Staying Cyber group is soliciting volunteers for officers for the year 2009.

If you would like to volunteer for a position, please do so here using the Post Reply box in this forum. Please post your name and the position that you wish to volunteer for.

All names that are entered will be added to the list for that office. At the end of the two weeks, if there is only one volunteer they will assume that office. If there is more than one volunteer, a vote will be held. Due to the time limitations of online voting, the elections will be on the basis of "most votes wins". If needed voting will take place December 14th through midnight of December 27th.

Nominees must have registered before October 1st, 2008 to volunteer themselves for office.
A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR SOBRIETY IS REQUIRED FOR ALL STEERING COMMITTEE POSITIONS

Positions open are:
Alternate IGR : 2 year term (open to any member registered before 10-1-2008)
Represent our group with the Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous. Maintain contact with the General Services Office. GSO has expressed interest in our attempt to have an AA meeting on the WWW, and asked to be informed of our progress. The liaison will need to keep up to date on any policy regarding AA online as this is a developing area. (requires no technical skills, beyond using e-mail, as far as we know GSO does not yet have an e-mail address, so this job would include long distance telephone calls or paper correspondence with GSO in New York City.)

Trustees: 4 Positions : 1 year term (open to any member registered before 10-1- 2008) Will be responsible for participating in online Steering Committee discussions on a regular basis, to discuss and vote on the group conscience, on matters as they arise. Trustees may volunteer to perform other duties in assisting in the expansion of the site, proof reading, simple text editing in a word processor (requires no technical skills, beyond using a web browser and e-mail).

Complete information on officers and voting can be found on the Guidelines Page

My name is Mike.
I am willing to serve as a Trustee and placing my name here for that reason.

I have been registered over the time required and have well over the one year of sobriety required in the job description.

Am I correct in assuming these terms take effect Jan 1, 2008?

Actually, it would be 2009, Mike. I usually wait until April to screw up a check with the wrong year, myself.:)

As Miranda said to Mike, and I will say to all who volunteer, THANK YOU!

ou, MIKE & DOUG, great seeing your names up here. Good luck to you both & the others who get their names up there, also. The majority who post on the CP have already served but I can think of a few more who haven't yet that qualify, too (*hint! hint! ;)

lol! RICH, last week I dated something 1995 & for a minute couldn't figure out why it looked wrong. hahaha!
